Stride Racing was formed in 2001 by Kurt Black and Mark Jolley. During its first 5 years of business, Stride Racing was an event management company, promoting, organizing and timing events such as the Huntsville Monastic Half-Marathon and Most Holy 5K, Northern Utah Training Series (NUTS), the Garden of Eden 10-Miler and several children’s races. In 2006, the company sold the event management portion of the business and focused on race timing. The company utilizes two types of timing systems: the Runnercard system and the new IPICO chip timing system, utilizing the latest in RFID technology.
